Remove four screws (1), washers (2), and
plate (3) from power plant compartment
wall. Discard plate.
Install exhaust pipe (4) on lower elbow (5)
and upper elbow (6). Secure with two
clamps (7). Do not tighten clamps.
Install lower elbow (5) on coolant heater (8).
Secure with clamp (7). Do not tighten
clamp.
Install upper elbow (6) and gasket (9) on
power plant compartment wall opening.
Secure with four screws (1) and
washers (2).
Tighten three clamps (7).
Raise and secure map table (10).
Remove three wing nuts (11) and battery
box cover (12) from battery box (13).
Remove batteries from battery box (13)
(see your 20). Clean battery box and bat-
tery box cover (12) (see TM 9-6140-200-14).

27. Clean battery box (13) and battery box cover
(12) with dry cleaning solvent.

28. Renew adhesive backing on all insulation
isobutyl ketone. Wait 10
adhesive becomes tacky.
