Discard spring pin.Remove two pins (8)CLEAN, INSPECT,9. Clean range selectorcloth.from housing (9).AND REPAIRparts with a clean, dry10.11.12.13.Check neutral start switch leads and connec-tors. Replace bad leads or connectors(page 14-3).Test neutral start switch (page 23-53).Replace bad switch.Check springs (3 and 6). Replace broken orweak springs.Check control rod, cam, and shaft.
