REPLACE VFM COUPLING (M981A3 ONLY) — Continued

Loosen clamp (1). Remove clamp (1) and tee (2) from coupling (3).

Remove clamp (4) from coupling (3) by removing screw (5), lockwasher (6), and washer (7). Discard lockwasher.
7.
Loosen clamp (8). Remove clamp (8) and coupling (3) from elbow (9).
8.
Loosen clamp (10). Remove clamp (10) and elbow (9) from coupling (11).

Loosen clamp (12). Remove clamp (12) and coupling (11) from adapter (13) on driver’s station VFM heater (14).
10. Loosen clamp (15). Remove clamp (15) and tee (2) from coupling (16).
11. Loosen clamp (1). Remove clamp (1) and coupling (2) from gas filter (3).
12. Remove five clamps (4), screws (5), lockwashers (6), and washer (7) from coupling (2) and remove coupling (2) from
carrier. Discard lockwashers.
13. Loosen clamp (8). Remove clamp (8) and coupling (9) from gas filter (3).
14. Loosen clamp (10). Remove clamp (10) and coupling (9) from M1A1-19 precleaner and particulate filter assembly (11).
15. Remove three clamps (12), screws (13), lockwasher (14), and washer (15) from coupling (9) and remove coupling (9)
from carrier. Discard lockwashers.
