Discardlockwashers.INSTALLATIONNOTEApply corrosion preventive compound to all threaded surfaces, except those securing groundlead (1), prior to installation.1. Before installing ground lead (1), prepare electrical mating surfaces as follows:a. Remove grease, oil, or other nonconductive films with cleaning compound solvent.b. Remove nonsoluble films by sanding and polishing with garnet abrasive paper, using caution not to removeexcessive metal. Then clean using brush.c. Apply corrosion resistant coating.2. Position one end of ground lead (1) behind top left mounting hole of frame assembly (2). Install ground lead and frameassembly with four washers (3), new lockwashers (4), and screws (5).3. Seal ground lead (1) and mating electrical surfaces with corrosion preventive compound.4. Place M1A1-19 precleaner and particulate filter assembly (6) into frame assembly (2).
