Remove screw (7), Iockwasher (6), washer (5), and clamp (4) from manifold connector (3). Discard
Iockwasher.
Remove screw (10), Iockwasher (11), and clamp (12) from manifold connector (3). Discard lockwasher.
Remove screw (27) and Iockwasher (26) from manifold connector (3). Discard Iockwasher.
Remove nut (9) and Iockwasher (8) from stud on manifold connector (3). Discard Iockwasher.
Remove engine coolant manifold (13) and gasket (14) from manifold connector (3). Discard gasket.
Loosen clamp (15) and remove manifold connector (3) from coolant hose (25).
Loosen clamp (24) and remove coolant hose (25) from upper housing (23).
Remove three screws (16), Iockwashers (17), and washers (18) from upper housing (23). Discard
Iockwashers.
Remove upper housing (23) from lower housing (20).
Remove bypass thermostat (22), gasket (19), and seal
gasket, and seal.
INSTALLATION
Install new seal (21 ) in lower housing (20).

Install new bypass thermostat (22) and new gasket (19) on lower housing (20).
Install upper housing (23) on lower housing (20) with three washers (18), new Iockwashers (17), and screws
(16).
WARNING
Adhesives can burn easily, can give off harmful vapors, and are harmful to skin and
clothing. To avoid injury or death, keep away from open fire and use in a well-
ventilated area. If adhesive gets on skin or clothing, wash immediately with soap and
water.
Apply adhesive to both ends of coolant hose (25); install coolant hose (25) on upper housing (23), and tighten
clamp (24).
Install manifold connector (3) on coolant hose (25), and tighten clamp (15).
Install engine coolant manifold (13) and new gasket (14) on manifoid connector (3).
Install new Iockwasher (8) and nut (9) on stud on manifoid connector (3).
Install screw (27) and new Iockwasher (26) on manifold connector (3).
