Installation Initial Setup: Tools/Test Equipment: • Drain pan (Item 14, Appendix 1) • General mechanic’s tool kit (Item 24, Appendix 1) Materials/Parts: • Cap and plug set (Item 13, Appendix D) • Drycleaning solvent (Item 28, Appendix D) • Teflon pipe sealant (Item 63, Appendix D) • Fuel filter element (Item 46, Appendix H) • Gasket (Item 85, Appendix H) • Lockwasher (2) (Item 164, Appendix H) Equipment Conditions: • Vehicle parked on level ground (refer to TM 9-2350-287-1 O). • Left and right transmission access doors opened (refer to TM 9-2350-287-10). a. REMOVAL CAUTION Cap all fuel component openings with protective covers. Do not use tape to seal fuel openings; tape adhesive can contaminate fuel. 1. Open drain cock (6) and drain fuel from fuel filter assembly (5) into drain pan. 2. Disconnect tube (1) from elbow (2). 3. Disconnect tube (3) from tee (4). 4-75
