REPAIR DRIVER’S HATCH (M901A3 AND M981A3 ONLY) — Continued

INSTALLATION
1.
Install spacer (1), guide (2), two washers (3), and screws (4).
2.
Install two shims (5), catch (6), two washers (7), new lockwashers (8), and screws (9).
3.
TIGHTEN TWO SCREWS (9) TO 120-144 LB-IN (14-16 N m) TORQUE.
NOTE
Before installing support (10) to deck, apply a.006-inch high and.12-inch wide bead of sealing
compound around the hole through the deck for handle (11). Do not allow sealing compound to
dry before installing support (10) to deck.
4.
Install two shims (12), lanyard (13), support (10), two pins (14), six washers (15), new lockwashers (16), and screws (17).
5.
TIGHTEN SIX SCREWS (17) TO 300-336 LB-IN (34-38 N m) TORQUE.
6.
Install handle (11), washer (18), and new locknut (19).
