REPLACE POWER PLANT DOOR (ALL EXCEPT M113A3) — Continued

Remove four screws (1), washers (2), two brackets (3)(4), plates (5), and power plant door (6) from hull.

Remove two spacers (7) from ends of power plant door (6).
INSTALLATION
WARNING
Power plant door is heavy. It can fall and injure you. Do not remove housing before relieving
spring tension by lifting and holding with lifting device.
Damaged lifting slings can fail with load. soldiers can be killed or injured. Inspect all slings
before use. Do not use damaged slings.
1.
Install two spacers (7) on ends of power plant door (6).
2.
Install bracket (3) on right end of power plant door (6).
3.
Install bracket (4) on left end of power plant door (6), with door in open position, so brackets (3)(4) can be secured to
hull. Install two brackets, four washers (2), and screws (1) on hull. Do not tighten screws.
NOTE
Do Step 4 if power plant door does not clear top of opening.

Place plates (5) under brackets (3)(4). After each plate is installed, tighten screws (1) until power plant door (6) clears
top of opening.
5.
TIGHTEN FOUR SCREWS (1) TO 216-240 LB-IN (24-27 N m) TORQUE.
6.
Remove lifting device and sling from power plant door.
