Examine hose (1) and hose couplings (2) for
cuts or cracks.
Check nozzle (3) for proper operation.
a. Check handle (4) for binding.
b. Unscrew nozzle tip (5) and inspect for
obstructions or damaged gasket (6).

c. Inspect plunger tip (7) for cuts or brit
tleness.
Check hose (1) for blockage.

a. Place extinguisher (8) horizontally on sol-

id surface and discharge outlet UP.
b. Loosen filler cap (9) three and one half
turns.

C. Wipe nozzle (3) clean and blow into ex-
tinguisher (8), observing gas escape from
filler cap (9).
d. Unscrew hose (1) from extinguisher (8)
and check preformed packing (10) for
damage. If damaged, replace.
Return extinguisher (8) to upright position
and remove filler cap (9). Remove any
remaining dust.
Inspect filler cap (9) threads for nicks, cross
threading, corrosion, and wear.
Check pressure relief vent (11) for obstruc-
tions.
Remove quad ring (12) and flat gasket (13)
from filler cap (9).
