NOTE
If power plant is in vehicle and steel rods
are available, go to step 12 to use
alternative method. A helper is needed.
1. Remove nut (1), lockwasher (2), and two
ground leads (3) from terminal on starter (4).
Discard lockwasher.
2. Remove nut (5), lockwasher (6), and circuit 6
lead (7) from terminal on starter solenoid (8).
Discard lockwasher.

Change 4
3. Remove nut (9) (screw on Prestolite), two
lockwashers (10) (Delco and Leece Neville
only) and circuit 74A lead (11) from terminal
on solenoid (8). Discard lockwashers.
WARNING
Avoid injury.
