Install gasket in falter head (2).Install new gasket (3) on housing (4).Install bolt (5) in housing (4).Install washer (6), spring (7), newpreformed packing (8), and retainer (9) onbolt (5). Secure with nut (10).Place new filter element (11) very carefullyover bolt (5) in housing (4).Install housing (4) with new element (11)on head (2).Install drain plug (12) in housing (4).Tighten bolt (5) to 50-60 lb-ft (68-81 N•m)torque. Use torque wrench.Apply a thin coat of sealing compound tocleaned external threads of plug (14) andbushing (13).If removed, install plug (14) in head (2).Install bushing (13) in head (2).(15) in bushing (13).WARNINGCarbon Monoxide is poison-ous and can kill you. Do notidle engine with driver’spower plant access paneloff unless there is VERYGOOD AIR FLOW.21.22.Start engine (see your -10). Check for oilleaks.Stop engine (see your -10). Wait about 20minutes for oil to drain back to pan, thencheck engine oil level. Add oil if needed(see your LO).FOLLOW-THROUGH STEPS1.
