REMOVAL
WARNING
NBC agents can kill you. Do not service air cleaner or vent system after NBC attack until
carrier has been decontaminated and filters disposed of by NBC team. Unit commander or
officer in charge must assign NBC team to decontaminate system and dispose of filters. Unit
commander or officer in charge must prescribe necessary protective clothing and safety
measures for NBC team.
NOTE
The removal, inspection, and installation procedures are the same for each NBC filtered air
hose.
NOTE
M548A3 carrier should only have four NBC stations. Converted M730A2 vehicles may have five
NBC stations.
1.
Remove quick disconnect coupling (1) from orifice connector assembly (2).
2.
Remove ratchet clamp (3) securing filtered air hose (4) to outlet adapter (5) on M3 heater (6). Push blade of screwdriver
under catch on ratchet clamp and lift up catch release. Remove hose from adapter.
3.
Remove ratchet clamp (7) securing filtered air hose (4) to quick disconnect coupling (1). Push blade of screwdriver
under catch on ratchet clamp and lift up catch release. Remove hose from quick disconnect coupling.
