TM 9-2350-247-20-3REPLACE WINCH TRANSFER GEARCASE (M548A1) — Continued 0413 002. If gearcase cannot be moved, fabricate gearcase removal tool (7) from 3/4-10 inch x 6 inch bolt. Cut head off bolt. Sawor file a 0.06-inch screwdriver slot in unthreaded end.3. Remove screw (8) from gearcase (4) and insert gearcase removal tool (7). Turn until gearcase comes off winch inputshaft (6).4. Remove cotter pin (9) from pin (10). Pull pin (10) from yoke (11). Discard cotter pin.5. Remove two cotter pins (12) from shear pin (13). Pull shear pin out of yoke (11). Discard cotter pins.6. Pull yoke (11) from gearcase output shaft (14).CLEANING AND INSPECTION1. Clean and service gearcase (WP 0128 00).2. Check nut and stud. Replace nut that has stripped threads. Notify your supervisor if stud is cracked or stripped.3. Check gearcase. Replace gearcase that leaks or is cracked.4. Check bushings. Replace bushing that is worn or cracked.041300-2
