InstallationInitial Setup:Tools/Test Equipment:Equipment Conditions:General mechanic’s tool kitVehicle parked on level ground (refer to(Item 24, Appendix I)TM 9-2350-287-10).Cooling system drained (refer toMateriais/Parts:TM 9-2350-287-10).Sealant adhesive (Item 6, Appendix D)Air intake grille opened and securedTeflon antiseize tape (Item 70, Appendix D)(refer to TM 9-2350-287-10).a.REMOVAL1.Loosen clamp (1) and disconnect hose (8) from elbow (7).2.Disconnect hose (6) from elbow (2).3.Remove two elbows (2 and 7) from main coolant crossover tube (5).4.Loosen two clamps (4) on crossover tube (5) securing crossover tube (5) to two hoses (3), and removecrossover tube (5) from two hoses (3).b.INSTALLATIONWARNINGAdhesives can burn easily, can give off harmful vapors, and are harmful to skin andclothing. To avoid injury or death, keep away from open fire and use only in a well-ventilated area. if adhesive gets on skin or clothing, wash immediately with soap andwater.1.Apply sealant adhesive to ends of crossover tube (5), and install crossover tube (5) on two hoses (3) with twoclamps (4).2.Apply Teflon antiseize tape to threads of two elbows (2 and 7), and install two elbows (2 and 7) in crossovertube (5).3.Connect hose (6) to elbow (2).4.Connect hose (8) to elbow (7) with clamp(1).6-22
