TM 9-2350-287-10Connecting Track (continued)4.Install one end connector (2) on two track link pins (3) on outside of track.5.Remove two track connecting fixtures and logs or rocks from track.6.Tap two end connectors (2) with hammer to seat end connectors (2) against track.7.Install two bolts (4) in two end connectors (2).8.Adjust track tension (p. 3-29).9.Mark replaced end connectors (2).10. Drive vehicle at a speed not to exceed10 miles per hour for a short distance,alternating right and left steers.11 Stop vehicle and visually inspect forany end connectors that may haveshifted. If any end connectors haveshifted, reposition.Tighten endconnector bolts (4) that have beenrepositioned. Notify Unit maintenanceto torque bolts between 360 and 420ft-lb (518 and 570 N•m) wet at earliestopportunity.NOTE• Notify Unit maintenance toretorque end connector boltsafter 50 miles.• If track is new, remove onetrack shoe after 50 miles.Removing Track ShoeNOTE1.2.•At least two personsare required toreplace a track shoe.• If available, use penetrating oil onbolts on track shoe.Position track shoe (2) to be removed midwaybetween no. 7 roadwheel (3) and idler wheel(1).Shut off vehicle engine (p. 2-99) and blocktrack with blocks.
