Remove four screws (7), lockwashers (M981A3 and M58 only) (8), washers (9), and radio operator’s seat (6) from
carrier. Discard lockwashers.
DISASSEMBLY
1.
Remove four screws (1), washers (2), and backrest (3) from back brace (4). Lift back brace off seat.
2.
Remove seat cushion (5) from seat (6).
3.
Remove six locknuts (7), washers (8), screws (9), and two clips (10) from seat (6). Discard locknuts.
4.
Remove two screws (11), lockwashers (12), spacers (13), and bracket (14) from two rails (15). Discard lockwashers.
5.
Remove eight screws (16) and seat (6) from two rails (15).
6.
Remove two short spring pins (17) from handle (18). Discard spring pins.
7.
Remove handle (18), spring (19), and latch (20) from seat (6).
8.
Remove two long spring pins (21) from seat (6). Discard spring pins.
