Avoid damaging fuel tanks when removing fuel
tank pads.

NOTE
All fuel tanks are not constructed the same. If
the side retaining strap fits flush against the
lower fuel tank when installed, a pad is not re-
quired. If a space exists between the tank and re-
taining strap, a pad is required.

Remove fuel tank pads (3).
INSTALLATION
Clean pad mounting surfaces thoroughly to remove all residue
from old pad and adhesives.
Remove all paint from hull mounting surface.
Apply adhesive (item 4, Appx B) to pad and mounting surface
and let dry until tacky. Install hull-mounted pads.
Install rear retaining strap pad (1) and channel pad (2). (See in-
stallation steps A-C.)

Remove rear retaining strap pad (1) if required. See page 4-24
Trim fuel tank pads (3) to proper thickness for alinement and
for removal of retaining strap.
