HDisconnect harness at alternator. With jumper wires, connectpin E of alternator to a battery negative terminal and pin Dof alternator to the same battery positive terminal to apply 12volts dc to the alternatorfield. Run vehicle engine at idle speed, set multimeter on ac volts scale, place red lead on pin A andnegative lead on pin B, and note voltage reading. Then placered lead on pin C and black lead on pin A and note voltagereading. All readings should be between 30 and 34 volts. If thesevoltages are present, repair or replace cable from alternator torectifier (p 6-64). If these voltages are not present or vary con-siderably, replace generator (alternator) (p 6-4).IDisconnect rectifier-to-regulator harness at rectifier. Withjumper wires, connect pin E of rectifier to a battery negativeterminal and pin B of harness to same battery positive terminal. With vehicle engine running at idle speed and multimeter seton dc volts scale, place red lead on rectifier pin C and black leadto ground. Multimeter reading should be between 30 and 34volts. If this voltage is not present, replace rectifier (p 6-7). Ifthis voltage is present, reconnect harness and go to step J.TA3127022-125Change 1TM 9-2350-267-20
