A Disassemble portable instrument panel (p 6-21). Disconnect wire
40A from BATTERY indicator and check for voltage by plac-
ing red lead of multimeter in wire 40A and black lead to ground.
If voltage is present, replace indicator (p 6-19). If voltage is not
present, go to step B.
