INSTALLATION
WARNING
Hanging loads, heavy parts, and overhead equipment can fall unexpectedly and kill or injure
you.
Stay clear of hanging loads, heavy parts, and overhead equipment. Use correct lifting devices.
Always have helper guide heavy parts and equipment.
1.
Install outboard armor shield. Have helper assist.
a.
Install eyebolt (1), washer (2), new lockwasher (3), and nut (4).
b.
Install outboard shield (5) on hull. Secure with ten screws (6) and washers (7).
2.
Install inboard armor shield. Have helper assist.
a.
Position three hinges (8) and shims (9) on hull and secure with six screws (10) and washers (11). TIGHTEN
SCREWS TO 51-54 LB-FT (68-73 NM) TORQUE. Use torque wrench.
b.
Position two angle brackets (12) on shield (13). Secure with four screws (14) and washers (15). If necessary, add
shims (16). TIGHTEN SCREWS TO 22-24 LB-FT (28-33 NM) TORQUE. Use torque wrench.
c.
Install armor shield (13) in three hinge assemblies (8). Secure with three screws (17), new locknuts (18), and
six washers (19).
d.
Raise armor shield (13). Secure with two screws (20) and washers (21) to angle brackets (22). TIGHTEN SCREWS
TO 54-59 LB-FT (73-80 NM) TORQUE. Use torque wrench.
