11. Check fittings, hardware, hoses and housing
for leaks, cracks, damage and wear. Replace
if needed.

N O T E
If a new oil pump is being installed, use
fittings from old pump.
Install new packing (1) and elbow (2) in
lump (3).
Install new packing (4), retainer (5) , nut
6), and elbow (7) in pump (3). Tighten
nut (6).
nstall new packing (8) and quick disconnect
coupling half (9) in elbow (7).
.Apply a thin even coat of antiseize com-
pound to cleaned external threads of two
screws (10) before installation.
Fill pump (3) with oil.
Install retainer (11) and key (12) on
pump (3).
Install new gasket (13) on pump (3).
Align key (12) in keyway of secondary drive
gear. Secure pump (3) to transfer gearcase
(14) with two new key washers (15) and
screws (10).
Tighten two screws (10) to 35-40 lb-ft
(47-54 N•m) torque. Use torque wrench.
Secure pump (3) to secondary drive gear
with washer (16), nut (17), and new cotter
pin (18).
N O T E
Two washers (16) are the maximum used.
If two washers were removed, two will be
installed.
22. Install washer(s) (16), to secure pump to
drive gear.

Connect oil inlet hose (19) to quick discon-
nect coupling (9).
Connect oil outlet hose (20) to elbow (2).
