Use helper to reel out wire rope (1) as far as it will go (see your -10).2. Loosen screw (2). Pull wire rope from drum.3. Remove nut (3) and bolt (4) from clevis (5). Remove hook and chain (6) from clevis.CLEANING1. Check wire rope. See your FM 20-22 and TM 5-725 for wire rope wear criteria. Replace rope assembly if wires arebroken or badly worn. Replace clevis or pin that is damaged.2. Insert a 1/8 inch (3 mm) rod into inspection hole (7) in clevis. Replace wire rope assembly if rod can be inserted morethan 3/4 inch (19 mm).3. Check chain.
