REPLACE DIFFERENTIAL GASKET (M548A1) -- Continued

REMOVAL
1.
Remove dipstick (1) from differential cover (2).
NOTE
Damage to differential may occur if dirt or debris falls into it while cover is off. Before
differential cover is removed, all dirt and debris must be removed from around it and power
plant door.
2.
Remove all dirt and debris from around and above differential cover (2).
3.
Straighten tabs on 14 key washers (3).
4.
Remove 14 screws(4), key washers (3), differential cover (2), and gasket (5) from differential gearbox (6). Discard
gasket and key washers.
