STE/ICE PMCS - (continued).(1) VTM CONNECTIONS AND CHECKOUT FOR DCA.IWARNINGTo prevent personal injury, do notconnect or disconnect VTM whileengine is running.ICAUTIONIConnect connector P1 of DCA cableW1 to J1 on the VTM beforeconnecting to the diagnosticconnector.Connect battery to VTM:1. Pull VTM power switch to the OFF position.2. Connect DCA cable WI connector P1 to VTMconnector J1.3. Connect DCA cable W1 connector P2 toharness W100 connector P4 DCA receptacle.4. Make sure all connections are correct andtightened.NOTEPlace the VTM so only its rubber feet touchthe vehicle ordo all testing with the MASTERswitch ON. This will prevent sparking duringtesting. Sparking will interrupt testing, butwill not damage the VTM.A. 1. Push power switch on VTM to ON position.2.
