Apply cleaning compound mixture and allow to remain on surface 5 to 10 minutes. Scrub with a non-metallic
brush.
NOTE
Rinse cleaning compound before it dries or area will streak and not be cleaned effectively.

Rinse all areas thoroughly with running water.
PAINTING
PRETREAT AND PRIME
1.
For small areas, touch up pretreatment and primer using corrosion kit.
WARNING
Mixing acid and resin components can be hazardous. Always add acid to resin. Do not add
resin to acid. If resin component is added to acid, a violent chemical reaction may result,
injuring personnel. To avoid injury to personnel or damage to equipment, always pour acid
component slowly into the resin component.
NOTE
Mix only enough coating compound for immediate use.
2.
Pretreat cleaned area with coating compound as follows:
a.
Before mixing, thoroughly shake both acid and resin components to incorporate any settled material.
b.
Add one part acid slowly to four parts resin. Stir continuously until mixed.
c.
Apply coating compound with a brush. When dry, coating thickness should be 0.012 to 0.015 inch (0.3 to 0.4 mm).
d.
Allow coating to dry for one to four hours. Coating is dry when it resists removal with fingernail.
WARNING
Breathing vapors from zinc chromate primer may be hazardous. Do not breathe vapors. Use
primer in a well ventilated area.
3.
Apply zinc chromate primer to the area as follows:
a.
Stir primer in its original container until thoroughly mixed. Mix one part primer with one part lacquer thinner.
