Clean battery with nonmetallic brush dipped in mixture of sodium bicarbonate and water. After foaming stops, flushbattery with clean water. Dry with clean cloth.2. Clean retainers and parts by soaking in mixture of sodium bicarbonate and water. Dry parts and apply coating listed inorder of preference.3. See TM 9-6140-200-14 to service batteries.INSTALLATIONWARNINGBattery is heavy and can cause back injury if handled improperly. Be sure to have helper assistyou to remove and replace battery. Battery weighs about 75 lb (34 kg).CAUTIONPlace batteries with positive (+) and negative (-) terminals as shown in diagram below. Damageto components will occur if batteries are hooked up wrong.1.
