‘ VANE AXIAL COOLING FAN ASSEMBLIES REPAIR (CONTINUED) INSPECTION AND REPAIR NOTE A B C D Gears in Joy assembly are a matched set (Gear Set 10925646). If one gear requires replacement both must be replaced. Check gear shaft (16) for broken, missing or chipped gear teeth. E Replace gear if defective. F Measure gear shaft (16) diameter at (A). Replace gear shaft (16) if diameter (A) is not 1.1803-1.1808 inches (within ±0.0025 inch). G Measure gear shaft (16) diameter at (B). Replace gear shaft (16) if diameter is not 1.1807-1.1811 inches (within ±0.0025 inch). H Check concentricity of shaft (16) surface at (A) with surface (B) and spline surface (C). Refer to TM 9-214 for inspection of bearing (21). Measure outer diameter (OD) at (D) of bearing (21). Replace bearing (21) if OD (D) is not 2.8342-2.8346 inches. Measure internal diameter (ID) (E) of bearing (21). ID should be 1.1807- 1.1811 inch. Measure fit of bearing (21) to gear shaft (16). Fit should be 0.0001T- 0.0007L. TA309754 5-21 TM 9-2350-267-34
