Maintain pressure on seal (1)NOTEand on hinge leaves (3).If new hinge is to be installed, assemble pieces as.follows.AInstall four hinge leaves (3) on bar (9) and drive pins (10) throughlinks of bar and hinge leaves. Make sure holes in pins (10) are1positioned to aline with holes in links of bar (9).BSecure each of four pins (10) with spring pin (11).INSTALLATION11A Apply zinc chromate paste (item 46, Appx D) between mating1surfaces of each hinge leaf (3) and door (2).BInstall hinge assembly (8) on door (2) with six screws (4), 12 flatwashers (7), six new lockwashers (6) and six nuts (5)..EClean all adhesive from face of seal, using dry-cleaning solventC Apply thin even coat of adhesive (item 4, Appx D) to new seal(1) and seal channel. Allow to dry until tacky (approximately 5(item 19, Appx D).minutes).FAllow adhesive to cure for 30 minutes. Install appropriatedoor (p 9-41 or 9-42.2).WARNINGDry-cleaning solvent (PD-680) is toxic and flam-mable. To prevent personal injury when usingPD-680, use only in a well ventilated area. Avoidbreathing vapors. If you become dizzy get freshair immediately and seek medical attention. Avoidcontact with eyes, skin and clothing. Use protec-tive goggles, gloves, and clothing. If contact ismade, immediately flush with water and seekmedical attention. The flashpoint for Type I dry-cleaning solvent is 100° F (38” C); for Type II it is138°F (50°C).
