TM 9-2350-261-20-1 1.2.3.Remove six screws (1) and cover (2) from voltageregulator (3).Connect multimeter to clean unpainted surface andvehicle ground.Does multimeter read 0.5 ohms or less?1. Install cover and six screws on voltage regulator.2. Connect alternator test kit (page 3-64.1).3. Check batteries to make sure they are fully charged(see TM 9-6140-200-14).4. Turn off all electrical equipment/loads.CAUTIONIf voltage climbs above 33 or more volts,shut off engine. Alternator could bedamaged.5. Adjust rheostat to maximum resistance.6. Connect diagnostic test harness leads 1 and 4 together.7. Start engine and run at 800 rpm and lower resistance.8. Does voltage rise above battery voltage (test harnesslead 3 to ground) to approximately 28 volts?1.2.Ensure lock washers (4) andscrews (5) are tight onplate (6).Tighten nut (7) securingground lead (8) to -regulator (3).3. Install cover and screws onvoltage regulator.4. Repeat charging systemoperational check(page 3-64.4).1. Remove alternator test kit(page 3-64.1).2. Replace generator (200 amp)(page 9-34).3.
