TM 9-2350-261-10NBC SYSTEMS (M8A3, M13, and M14) -ALL CARRIERSEXCEPT M1064. Anyof the NBC systems provide protection against Nuclear, Biological, and Chemicalattacks. The NBC System will not filter exhaust gases and other potentiallypoisonous gases, nor will the air purifier provide oxygen to protect againstasphyxiation. Carriers maybe equipped differently. All of the NBC systems consistof an air purifier, hose assemblies, a circuit breaker, switch, and electric cables. Inaddition to the basic NBC system (M8A3), the M13 NBC system adds heaters toheat the purified air in cold weather, and the M14 NBC system provides hospitalhood protectors for disabled patients.
