TM 9-2350-247-20-3REPLACE DRUM LOCK HANDLE (M548A1) — Continued 0411 00INSTALLATION1. Place drum lock handle (1) over poppet shaft (2) and under bracket (3). Install pin (4), spring (5), washer (6), and newcotter pin (7).2. Place washer (8) and nut (9) on poppet shaft (2). Do not tighten nut.3. Move clutch lever (10) as far to right as it will go. Make sure detent pin in lever is seated in DISENGAGED slot ofbracket (3).4. Unlock drum (see your -10). Turn winch drum by hand until poppet shaft (2) is seated in drum flange.ADJUSTMENT1. Hold nut (9) and install jam nut (11). Adjust nut (9) and nut (11) so that poppet shaft (2) is withdrawn 5/16 ± 1/16 inch(7.6 ± 1.6 mm) from maximum inward travel when detent pin in lever is seated in hole on bracket.FOLLOW-THROUGH STEPS1.
