Remove lock nut (1) and screw (2) from control rod lock (3), spring (4), bushing (5), and two control rod clamps (6).
Discard lock nut.

Remove lock nut (7) from screw (8). Remove two control rod clamps (6) from control rod lock (3). Separate control rod
lock (3) from spring (4) and bushing (5). Discard lock nut.
4.
Remove cotter pin (9) from clevis pin (10). Remove clevis pin (10) from control rod (11) and remote control lever (12).
Discard cotter pin.
5.
Remove control rod (11) from control rod support guide (13).
6.
Remove screw (14) and lock washer (15) from remote control lever (12) and engine transfer gearcase shaft (16). Discard
lock washer.
7.
Remove two lock nuts (17), four washers (18), and two screws (19) securing rear support (20) to power plant. Remove
rear support (20) and remote control lever (12) from power plant. Discard lock nuts.
INSTALLATION
1.
Place rear support (20) on power plant. Secure with two screws (19), four washers (18), and two new lock nuts (17).
2.
Place remote control lever (12) to engage rear support (20) and engine transfer gearcase shaft (16).
3.
Secure remote control lever (12) to engine transfer gearcase shaft (16) with new lock washer (15) and screw (14).
4.
Install control rod (11) in control rod support guide (13). Secure control rod (11) to remote control lever (12) with clevis
pin (10) and new cotter pin (9).
5.
Place two control rod clamps (6) on control rod (11). Secure with screw (8) and new lock nut (7).
