2-2. COMMON TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT.
Common tools and equipment are issued to Unit maintenance personnel for maintaining the M992A1. Common tools
and equipment should not be used for purposes other than those prescribed and should be properly stored when not
in use. For authorized common tools and equipment, refer to the Modified Table of Organization and Equipment
(MTOE), CTA 50-970, or CTA 8-100 as applicable to your unit.

REPAIR PARTS.
Repair parts are listed and illustrated in the Repair Parts and Special Tools List (RPSTL), TM 9-2350-287-24P, which
covers Unit, Direct Support, and General Support maintenance for the M992A1.
Gaskets, packings, preformed packings, seals, Iockwashers, self-locking nuts, cotter pins, and spring pins must be
replaced. Bushings must be replaced only if removed.
Springs must be replaced if broken, kinked, or cracked or if they do not conform to standards specified in the repair
procedures.

SPECIAL TOOLS, TMDE, AND SUPPORT EQUIPMENT.
Special tools, TMDE, and support equipment necessary to perform the maintenance described in this manual are listed
in Appendix B for information only. The authority for requisitioning replacements for special tools, TM DE, and support
equipment is TM 9-2350-287-24P.
