REPAIR TRIM VANE (ALL EXCEPT M58) — Continued

Remove six locknuts (7), washers (8), screws (9) and front pod (4) from trim vane (6). Discard locknuts.
3.
Remove six locknuts (10), 12 washers (11), six screws (12), and rear pod (5) from trim vane (6). Discard locknuts.
4.
Remove three locknuts (13), washers (14), bumpers (15), and six washers (16) from trim vane (6). Discard locknuts.
5.
Remove two locknuts (17), screws (18), and hinges (19) from trim vane (6). Discard locknuts.
6.
Remove seven locknuts (20), screws (21), and lower stiffener (22) from trim vane (6). Discard locknuts.
7.
Remove five locknuts (23), screws (24), and upper stiffener (25) from vane (6). Discard locknuts.
8.
Remove six locknuts (26), screws (27), two plates (28), and release assembly (29) from trim vane (6). Discard locknuts.
INSPECTION-ACCEPTANCE AND REJECTION CRITERIA
1.
Check inside of floatation pod section. If foam filler is cracked or missing, notify your supervisor. Check metal for
cracks. Check flatness with straight edge. Use a cross-cut saw to trim off any foam that extends beyond edge of pod.
