TM 9-2350-277-20-2DRAIN AND FILL COOLING SYSTEM — Continued 0227 00CAUTIONIf engine coolant temperature gage reading is above 230F (110C), stop engine (see your -10)and allow it to cool.Check the following for cause of engine overheat:Make sure air cleaner element is clean and installed right (see your -10).Check fan belts (WP 0242 00) for correct adjustment.Check radiator and air intake grill air passages. Clean and remove debris preventing freemovement of air (see your -10).Check engine oil level. Check for right grade of oil (WP 0155 00).5. Stop engine and allow it to cool (see your -10).WARNINGHot radiator coolant can burn you. Use hand to remove cap ONLY if cool to touch. Turn capslowly to release pressure. Replace cap by pressing down and turning until tight.6. Add coolant as necessary to bring level to COLD mark of filler neck (1). Check for leaks.FOLLOW-THROUGH STEPS1.
