Testing transistors
NPN TRANSISTOR
(SCHEMATIC)
A Place red lead of multimeter on Pin B and black lead on Pin E.
Multimeter should read low resistance.
NOTE
B Place black lead on Pin B and red lead on Pin E. Multimeter
Case of transistor is collector
should read high resistance. If either A or B readings are not as
specified transistor is faulty. Replace.
C Place red lead of multimeter on Pin B and black lead
to case (C). Multimeter should read low resistance.
D Place red lead on case (C) and black lead on Pin B.
Multimeter should read high resistance. If either C or
D readings are not as specified, transistor is faulty.
Replace.
