Push piston rod (2)in as far as it will go.Maintain inward pressure on piston rod (2)and rotate counterclockwise until piston rodrotates freely.Pull piston rod (2) from cylinder (3).Remove retaining ring (4), wiper ringpacking (6) from cylinder (3). Discarding, wiper ring, and retaining ring.Press bearing (7) about 1 inch (3 cm)cylinder (3) to force retaining ring (8)groove in cylinder.(5), andpack-infromPull bearing (7) from cylinder (3). Discardbearing.Turn retaining ring (8) 90 degrees in cylinder(3). Remove ring from cylinder. Discard re-taining ring.8.9.Close bleeder valve (1). Force grease throughlube fitting (9) until piston assembly (10) isforced from cylinder (3).Use a clean cloth to remove excess greasefrom piston assembly ( 10) and cylinder (3).N O T EPacking set may be a five or seven piecedesign.10. Remove retaining ring (11), bearing (12),and five packings (13) from piston assembly(10). Discard packings, retaining ring, and—bearing.GO TO NEXT PAGE7-9
