5. Remove pipe plug (1) from drain cock (2).
6. Install fuel drain hose (3) on drain cock (2).
Insert drain hose through hull opening into
metal container.
7. Open valve (4) and drain fuel from tanks.
8. Close valve (4) and remove hose (3) from
drain cock (2).

Apply sealing compound to threads of pipe
plug (1) and install plug in drain cock (2).
Remove ground strap (5) from hull and
metal container.
Install drain plug (6) in hull and secure
with retaining screw (7).
Install fuel filler cap. Close combat
cover (8).
WITH PERSONNEL HEATER INSTALLED
FOLLOW-THROUGH STEPS
1. Fill fuel tanks (see your -10).
3. Connect battery ground lead (page 13-2).
2. Install rear compartment floor plates
4. Raise and lock ramp (see your -10).
(page 24-37).
5. Stop/shutdown engine (see your -10).
