INSTALLATION
NOTE
Installation procedures for M548A1 and M548A3 engine coolant heater are similar. M548A3
coolant heater does not have a cover. M548A1 coolant heater is shown.
NOTE
For M548A1, do Step 8.
1.
Place engine coolant heater (1) on bracket (2). Secure with two clamps (3).
2.
Connect wiring harness (4) to receptacle (5) on engine coolant heater (1).
3.
Connect ground lead (6) to engine coolant heater (1). Secure with new lock washer (7) and nut (8).
4.
Connect exhaust pipe (9) to engine coolant heater (1). Secure with clamp (10).
5.
If replacement engine coolant heater (1) is being installed, install heater nipple (11) in heater.
6.
Connect pump-to-heater fuel tube (12) to heater nipple (11).
7.
Connect inlet and outlet hoses to engine coolant heater (WP 0476 00).
8.
Place cover plate (13) on bracket (2). Secure with two washers (14) and screws (15).
9.
Open coolant valve (16) and coolant valve (17).
