Measure from first line towards end of the rod 1/2 inch (13 mm) and scribe a line across rod.

Stamp or mark FULL, 1 PT, and ADD on rod.
5.
If replacement final drive is being installed, do the following before installation:
a.
Check final drive drain plug for tightness.
b.
Fill final drive with 3 1/2 quarts (3.31 liters) of OE/HDO oil (WP 0128 00).
CAUTION
Make sure each final drive contains 3 1/2 quarts (3.31 liters) of oil. Less oil will cause severe
damage.
NOTE
After filling final drive with 3 1/2 quarts (3.31 liters) of oil, old gauge rod will show oil level over
ADD-FULL mark. New gauge rod will show correct level.
6.
If left final drive is being replaced, remove speedometer shaft adapter from replaced final drive. Install speedometer shaft
adapter in new final drive (WP 0517 00).
