ADJUSTMENT
NOTE
Adjust length of range selector link after adjustment of range selector control link, as needed, to
align shift lever in range selector control.
1.
Adjust transmission range selector control and linkage as follows:
a.
Loosen jam nut (1) on link bearing (2). Remove lock nut (3) from screw (4). Remove link bearing (2) from gear
selector arm (5). Discard lock nut.
b.
Place range selector shift lever (6) in drive position 1.
c.
Press transmission shift arm (7) downward to end of travel to place transmission in drive position 1.
d.
Adjust length of range selector control link (8) so screw (4) will pass freely through link bearing (2) and gear
selector arm (5). Turn link bearing (2) to the right to lengthen or to the left to shorten range selector control link (8).
e.
Check alignment of range selector control link (8) with gear selector arm (5). Check alignment in all transmission
shift arm (7) positions and range selector control (9) positions.
f.
When proper alignment is completed, tighten jam nut (1) on link bearing (2) to secure adjustment of range selector
control link (8).
g.
Secure link bearing (2) to gear selector arm (5) with screw (4) and new lock nut (3).
