ENGINE COOLING SYSTEM - Continued
Draining Coolant
1. Monitor engine temperature on ENGINE WATER TEMPERATURE gage (p 2-91)
and allow engine to cool to below 185°F.
Place vehicle on an incline, nose down, to facilitate coolant draining.
Remove access cover (1) on bottom of vehicle.
Using a socket wrench, remove coolant drain plug (2) and drain coolant.
Slowly remove radiator cap.
Replace plug and refill as outlined in steps 3 and 4 on page 3-21.
Install access cover (1).

-65oF to -40oF . . . . . .
Antifreeze (Arctic-type, full-strength) (item 5, Appx D)
