Loosen two nuts (57) and remove rod ends (56) and nuts (57) from rod (3).

two rod ends (56) and nuts (57)
from rod (16).
Remove quick-release pin (20),
chain (50), and safety wire (49)
from rod end (56) of rod (16).
Discard safety wire.
Loosen clamp (28) and remove
dust boot (27) and clamp (28) from
rod (16).
CLEANING AND INSPECTION
Drycleaning solvent P-D-680 is toxic and flammable. Always wear protective goggles
and gloves, and use only in a well-ventilated area. Avoid contact with skin, eyes, and
clothes, and DO NOT breathe vapors. DO NOT use near open flame or excessive heat.
CAUTION
Do not clean rubber or plastic parts with drycleaning solvent. Damage to rubber or
plastic parts may result.
For cleaning of threaded rod ends, refer to TM9-214.
