This  Task  Covers: a.   Removal b.   Installation c.   Cleaning   and   lnspection d.   Assembly e.   Installation Initial Setup: Tools/Test  Equipment: • Lockwasher (12) (item 160, Appendix H) • General mechanic’s tool kit (Item 24, • Lockwasher (18) (Item 164, Appendix H) Appendix i) Equipment Conditions: Materials/Parts: • Vehicle parked on Ievel ground (refer  to • Drycleaning solvent (Item 28, Appendix D) TM 9-2350-287-10). • Cotter pin (3) (Item 18, Appendix H) a. 1. 2. b. 1. 2. 3. 4. REMOVAL NOTE Left and right canister and personnel side door latches and bumper assemblies are replaced the same way. For proper installation of personnel side door hold-open latch and bumper assembly, record number and thickness of shims. Remove four screws (15) and iockwashers (14), latch assembly (16), and shims (17) from hull. Discard Iockwashers. Remove  two  screws  (6)  and  iockwashers  (5),  bumper  assembly  (2),  and  shims  (18)  from  hull.  Discard Iockwashers DISASSEMBLY Remove cotter pin (3), straight pin (1), and bumper (4) from bumper assembly (2). Discard cotter pin. Hold pin (12), and remove ball (7) from pin (12). Remove four screws (8) and Iockwashers (9) and plate (1 O) from latch assembly (16). Discard Iockwashers. Remove spring (11), pin (12), and grease fitting (13) from latch assembly (16). 15-66
