Remove nut (12), Iockwasher (13), solenoid lead 14B (14), wire AX (1 5), and orange wire (16) from left post of starter solenoid (4). Discard Iockwasher. Remove nut (21), Iockwasher (20), and black lead (19) from right post of starter solenoid (4). Discard Iockwasher. Remove nut (17) and lead AY(18) from starter motor (6). 6. Remove three screws (24) and Iockwashers (23) from starter motor (6). Discard Iockwashers. WARNING Starter motor weighs 80 pounds. To avoid serious injury to personnel use an assistant when removing starter motor. 7. With the aid of an assistant, remove starter motor (6) and gasket (22) from engine. Discard gasket. 7-15
