InstallationInitial Setup:Tools/Test Equipment:Equipment Conditions:• General mechanic’s tool kit• Vehicle parked on level ground (refer to(Item 24, Appendix I)TM 9-2350-287-10).• Left and right transmission access doors openedMaterials/Parts:(refer to TM 9-2350-287-10).• Lockwasher (3) (Item 159, Appendix H)• Lockwasher (2) (Item 164, Appendix H)a.1.2.b.1.2.REMOVALNOTEIt is not necessary to disconnect fuel lines or drain fuel filter.Remove two screws (1), nuts (5), lockwashers (4), and washers (3) securing secondary fuel filter (6) to liftingbracket (2). Discard lockwashers.Remove three screws (7) and Iockwashers (8), surge tank tube retaining strap (9), and lifting bracket (2) fromtransmission (10). Discard Iockwashers..INSTALLATIONInstall lifting bracket (2) and surgetank tube retaining strap (9) ontransmission (10) with three screws(7) and new lockwashers (8).Secure secondary fuel filter (6) tolifting bracket (2) with two screws (1),washers (3), new lockwashers (4),and nuts (5).FOLLOW-ON MAINTENANCE:• Close left and right transmission accessdoors (refer to TM 9-2350-287-10).4-57
