Never attempt to shift into reverse gear range unless vehicle is
at standstill and engine is operating at idle rpm.
Change 1
REVERSE-FIRST GEAR RANGE (R1)
should be used when:
l Backing up.
l
Making turns with heavy loads or
when on soft ground.
l
Ascending steep grades backward
for maximum engine power.
l
Making short, rearward radius turns.
REVERSE-SECOND GEAR RANGE
(R2) should be used when driving on
level, hard-surfaced ground when
backward movement for long distances
becomes necessary.
