5-20TM 9-2350-267-20RADIATOR: CLEANINGThe radiator cleaning tool (11641959) is designed to removedeposits of sand, oil, clay and other debris from the radiator coolingfins while installed in the vehicle. The cleaning agent may be awater solution of detergent and water, or nontoxic, nonflammablesolvent and water. Mix one part of detergent or solvent to approx-imately five parts of water. A solution of detergent and water isrecommended.ABcDEFGHIRemove eight screws (1) and radiator shroud cover (2).Open hull drains (TM 9-2350-267-10).Cover all exposed openings of the engine.Connect radiator cleaning tool (3) to air supply and inserthose in container of solution.Insert cleaning tool through shroud cover opening (4).Saturate front and back of radiator with solution. Soak forapproximately 10 minutes.Remove heavy deposits from face of radiator by brushingwith medium stiff brush that will not damage the fins.Blast radiator exterior with air/liquid mixture, hold head oftool approximately 1/2 inch from face of radiator. Alternatefrom back to front until a good flow of liquid over theradiator fins is observed over entire area.Flush engine parts and exterior of radiator with cleanwater. Remove hose from container and use air to completethe operation.Uncover engine openings. Install radiator shroud cover (2)with eight screws (1).
