MAINTENANCE OF TRACK - Continued
WARNING
Lubricant is under high pressure.
Loosen bleed plug (1) slowly to
avoid injury to personnel.
Open bleed plug (1) on track adjuster and reduce pressure until tension is adjusted.
Tighten plug and wipe away excess grease.
Removing/Installing Track Shoe

Decrease track tension.
Remove bolts (1) retaining wedges (2) on
all four end connectors (3) holding track
shoes.
Install end connector puller (4) and tighten
screws (5) against ends of track link pins.
Move all four end connectors out approxi-
mately 1 Inch, but do not remove.
Install track fixtures (6) on both sides of
shoe being removed, engaging track link
pins (7) on adjoining shoes.
Remove end connectors (3) and track
shoe (8).
Install new track shoe by reversing proce-
dures 6,5,4, and 2.
Tighten wedge screws to 90-100 Ib-ft if
torque wrench is available.
