Pull backon both levers so the lock buttonspop up, then let levers goforward.4. Step on the accelerator pedal. Goeasy. Take off nice and smooth.Push on the pedal to control thespeed. The transmission will shift automatically within the rangeyou set for it. To hold in a rangepast the normal shift point for afew seconds, or to shift down forextra power, push the pedal allthe way to the floor.CAUTIONThe full-throttle transmissiondetent (pedal to the floor) is nota tradeoff for selecting the proper range. Use the detent forshort bursts of power, not as away to gear down for heavyhauling.WARNINGWhen a track ve-hicle gets out ofcontrol and over-turns, it is safer tostay in the vehiclethan to try to get.out while the vehicle is still mov-ing. You may receive slight inju-ries from being thrown againstmetal parts; but if you try to leavethe vehicle, it may roll over andcrush you. Once the vehicle stopsmoving, get out as fast as possiblebecause spilled fuel and oil maycatch on fire. The first thing thedriver should do in such an emer-gency is shut off the engine andturn off the master switch tominimize the fire hazard.2-180
